Refrigerator AMANA repair in Los Altos, California – evaporator fan not working and not defrosting

The customer’s refrigerator AMANA had an issue with evaporator fan not working and not defrosting. I did check the defrost timer – it was looks good but anyway I did replaced it. Then I started defrost cycle and evaporator coil melted snow and ice. After that evaporator fan motor stopped working. I did check incoming voltage to fan motor and saw that incoming voltage is 56VAC. I started find some bad contacts. Didn’t find anything. Then I did check frozen defrost thermostat and saw that it’s shows 4 MOhms of resistance. For that reason it did cut the voltage and power. I did replace defrost thermostat and evaporator fan motor started working after 10 minutes after freezes up.
